Mr. Jayanti is the Managing Partner of Corsair and serves as the Chairman of the various funds’ investment committees and the firm’s Operating Committee. He joined Corsair in 1993 when the first fund was launched.
Prior to spinning off Corsair as an independent business from J.P. Morgan & Co. in 2006, Mr. Jayanti played a key role as a senior member of the investment team of the predecessor Corsair funds and also was responsible for managing the operations of the Corsair business from 1994 onwards. He was also highly involved in all aspects of the fundraising for Corsair II, III and IV as well as the fundraising for associated co-investments in those funds. Mr. Jayanti has been involved in the execution of most of the Corsair funds’ investments and was responsible for leading the execution of many of those investments including First Eagle Investment Management, Swedbank, Bank Handlowy, Koram Bank and Axis Capital Holdings. He serves as a director of Corsair portfolio company First Eagle Investment Management.
From 1994 to 1999, Mr. Jayanti was also a senior member of the Investment Banking Department of J.P. Morgan, where he headed the Emerging Markets Financial Institutions group. Prior to J.P. Morgan, Mr. Jayanti worked at Credit Suisse First Boston in the Financial Institutions group both in New York and London. His investment banking experience includes complex advisory assignments in the United States, Europe, Asia and Latin America.
Mr. Jayanti holds both a B.A. and an M.A. in Economics from Queens’ College, Cambridge University. He is also a member of the International Advisory Committee of Jacob Rothschild’s London-listed investment trust, RIT Capital Partners plc.
