Mr. Jayanti is President of Corsair and serves as a member of the Investment Committees of Corsair II, Corsair III and Corsair IV.
Prior to spinning off Corsair as an independent business in 2006, Mr. Jayanti served as Secretary and Treasurer of Corsair I from 1994 to 2000, and served as President of Corsair II and Corsair III. During this time, Mr. Jayanti participated in all of Corsair funds’ investments. Mr. Jayanti’s investment experience includes sourcing, structuring and negotiating a variety of investments, including transactions involving consortia where Corsair has played a lead or principal role. He also played a lead role in Corsair’s sales of portfolio companies to strategic acquirers, including the sales of Bank Handlowy in Poland and KorAm Bank in Korea to Citigroup.
From 1993 to 1999, Mr. Jayanti was also a senior member of the Investment Banking Department of J.P. Morgan, where he headed the Emerging Markets Financial Institutions group. Prior to J.P. Morgan, Mr. Jayanti worked at Credit Suisse First Boston in the Financial Institutions group headed by Mr. Paumgarten. His experience includes banking assignments in the United States, Europe, Asia and Latin America, among them Mexico’s bank privatizations, the recapitalization of the Swedish banks, consolidation and restructuring transactions in the Austrian, Swiss and German markets, the acquisitions of various Latin American banks by European financial institutions, the restructuring of financial institutions in Southeast Asia following the Asian crisis and the privatizations of financial institutions in former communist countries of Eastern Europe. Mr. Jayanti is fluent in French and Spanish and conversant in German and Italian.
Mr. Jayanti holds both a B.A. and an M.A. in Economics from Cambridge University.
