Chairman
E. Mervyn DaviesChairman

Lord Davies of Abersoch is Chairman of Corsair and serves as a member of the Investment Committee and the firm’s Operating Committee. He joined Corsair in 2010 and is based in London.

Lord Davies was U.K. Minister for Trade, Investment and Small Business and Infrastructure in 2009-2010. Prior to this appointment, he was Chairman of Standard Chartered PLC. He joined the Board of Standard Chartered PLC in 1997 and was Group Chief Executive from 2001 until 2006.

He has a wide range of interests, including his role as Chairman of the Trustees of the Royal Academy Trust. He was awarded a CBE for his services to the financial sector and the community in Hong Kong in 2002 where he served as a member of the HK Exchange fund for seven years. Lord Davies is also a JP in Hong Kong.

D.T. Ignacio JayantiManaging Partner

Mr. Jayanti is the Managing Partner of Corsair and serves as Chairman of the Investment Committee and heads the firm’s Operating Committee. He joined Corsair in 1993 when the first Corsair fund was launched and is based in New York. Mr. Jayanti is a director of Corsair portfolio companies First Eagle Investment Management and CamberView Partners.

Prior to spinning off Corsair as an independent business from J.P. Morgan Chase & Co. in 2006, Mr. Jayanti played a key role as a senior member of the investment team of the predecessor Corsair funds and also was responsible for managing the operations of the Corsair business from 1994 onwards. From 1994 to 1999, Mr. Jayanti was also a senior member of the Investment Banking Department of J.P. Morgan, where he headed the Emerging Markets Financial Institutions group. Prior to J.P. Morgan, Mr. Jayanti worked at Credit Suisse First Boston in the Financial Institutions group both in New York and London. His investment banking experience includes complex advisory assignments in the United States, Europe, Asia and Latin America.

Mr. Jayanti holds both a B.A. and an M.A. in Economics from Queens’ College, Cambridge University. He is a member of the International Advisory Committee of Jacob Rothschild’s London-listed investment trust, RIT Capital Partners plc, and a member of the International Advisory Board of BritishAmerican Business.

Mr. Jayanti is also a Fellow of the inaugural class of the Finance Leaders Fellowship Program and a member of the Aspen Global Leadership Network.

Founder
Nicholas B. PaumgartenFounder

Mr. Paumgarten is Founder of Corsair and serves as a member of the Investment Committee. He is based in New York.

Prior to spinning off Corsair as an independent business in 2006, Mr. Paumgarten was a Managing Director at J.P. Morgan Chase & Co. and its predecessor companies, J.P. Morgan & Co., which he joined in 1992 to raise Corsair I. While at J.P. Morgan Chase & Co., Mr. Paumgarten served as Chairman of Corsair I and Corsair II. From 1994 to 1999, he also held a number of senior management positions in the Investment Banking Department of J.P. Morgan Chase & Co., including Co-Head of the Financial Institutions group and Co-Head of the Mergers and Acquisitions group for the Americas. Previously, he headed Credit Suisse First Boston’s Financial Institutions group.

As an investment banker in the financial services sector for over 30 years, Mr. Paumgarten was an early proponent of consolidation in the industry and has participated in numerous landmark transactions including the sale of Barnett Banks to Nationsbank, the spin-off of Capital One from Signet Bank and the sale of First Security to Wells Fargo.

Mr. Paumgarten holds a B.A. in History from the University of Pennsylvania, where he is Chairman of Friends of Pennsylvania Rowing, and an M.B.A. from Columbia University. Mr. Paumgarten is the lead director of Scripps Networks Interactive.

Thomas DempseyManaging Director

Mr. Dempsey is a Managing Director of Corsair. He joined Corsair in 2016 and is based in New York.

Mr. Dempsey is head of Corsair’s investor relations with limited partners. Prior to joining Corsair, Mr. Dempsey served as President of the North American Business of Fulcrum Asset Management, a UK-based asset management firm with $3.5 billion in assets under management. Prior to Fulcrum, Mr. Dempsey was a Partner and Head of Business Development at Tremblant Capital, where he was responsible for new business development, marketing and existing investor relationships. Previously, Mr. Dempsey worked at Goldman Sachs Asset Management, where he was a Managing Director in the Quantitative Strategies group with coverage responsibilities for hundreds of institutional investors across multiple products. Mr. Dempsey began his career at Fiduciary Trust where he was a Senior Vice President and Portfolio Manager.

Mr. Dempsey holds a B.A. in Government from Georgetown University. He is a member of the Board of Regents at Georgetown.

Derrick R. EstesManaging Director

Mr. Estes is a Managing Director of Corsair and serves as a member of the Investment Committee. Having joined Corsair’s New York office in 2006, he relocated to London in 2013. Mr. Estes is a director of Corsair portfolio company Currencies Direct.

Prior to joining Corsair, Mr. Estes was a member of Merrill Lynch’s Financial Institutions Group in New York.

Mr. Estes holds a B.A. in English and Political Science from Williams College.

Raja Hadji-ToumaManaging Director

Mr. Hadji-Touma is a Managing Director of Corsair and serves as a member of the Investment Committee and the firm’s Operating Committee. He joined Corsair in 2006 and is based in London. Mr. Hadji-Touma is a board member of Corsair portfolio companies Currencies Direct and NoteMachine Financial Technology Services.

From 1997 to 2000, concurrent with his responsibilities at Corsair, Mr. Hadji-Touma served as a member of the Emerging Markets Financial Institutions group at J.P. Morgan Chase & Co. where he worked on a variety of transactions advising financial services companies and governments in both Latin America and Asia. Prior to joining Corsair, Mr. Hadji-Touma was responsible for establishing and managing Babcock & Brown Global Partners, a private equity co-investment vehicle sponsored by the Babcock & Brown Group. There he co-managed both the co-investment activities of the fund and investor relations. Between 2001 and 2003, Mr. Hadji-Touma served as an investment professional at Rhône Capital, a global buyout firm.

Mr. Hadji-Touma holds a B.S. in International Relations from Georgetown University.

James E. KirkManaging Director

Mr. Kirk is a Managing Director of Corsair and serves as a member of the Investment Committee. He joined Corsair in 2004 and is based in New York. Mr. Kirk is a director or board observer of Corsair portfolio companies REPAY Holdings and First Eagle Investment Management.

Prior to joining Corsair, Mr. Kirk served as an investment banker in the Healthcare group at J.P. Morgan, where he worked on a variety of transactions advising on mergers and acquisitions and capital raising activities.

Mr. Kirk holds a B.A. in Economics and certificate in East Asian Studies from Princeton University.

COO & CFO
Amy M. KnappCOO & CFO

Ms. Knapp is Chief Operating Officer and Chief Financial Officer of Corsair and a member of the firm’s Operating Committee. She joined Corsair in 2001 and is based in New York.

Ms. Knapp leads the finance, operations, legal & compliance, human talent and administrative functions of Corsair. She is also involved with investor relations and various other initiatives at the firm. Prior to joining Corsair, Ms. Knapp was an Associate with J.P. Morgan Chase & Co., where she was involved with the firm’s role as sponsor of the first two Corsair funds raised. Previously, she worked at PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP in the firm’s capital markets audit and assurance practice.

Ms. Knapp is a certified public accountant, holds a B.S. in Accounting from the University at Albany, SUNY and an M.B.A. from the New York University Stern School of Business. She serves on the Dean’s Advisory Board for the University at Albany, SUNY’s School of Business.

Hari R. RajanManaging Director

Mr. Rajan is a Managing Director of Corsair and serves as a member of the Investment Committee. He joined Corsair in 1999 and is based in New York. Mr. Rajan is a board member of Corsair portfolio company Kyobo Life Insurance Company.

From 1999 to 2001, concurrent with his responsibilities at Corsair, Mr. Rajan served as a member of the Emerging Markets Financial Institutions Group at J.P. Morgan Chase & Co., where he was involved in a number of transactions involving financial services companies across multiple geographies.

Mr. Rajan holds a B.A. in Economics and Applied Mathematics from Yale University and an M.B.A. with honors from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.

Jeremy S. ScheinManaging Director

Mr. Schein is a Managing Director of Corsair and serves as a member of the Investment Committee. He joined Corsair in 2001 and is based in New York. Mr. Schein is a director of Corsair portfolio companies NoteMachine Financial Technology Services, Personal Capital, and REPAY Holdings.

Mr. Schein holds a B.A. in Economics from Cornell University.

Richard E. ThornburghSenior Advisor

Mr. Thornburgh is a Senior Advisor of Corsair and serves as a member of the Investment Committee. He joined Corsair in 2006 and is based in New York. Mr. Thornburgh is a director of Corsair portfolio companies CapStar Bank and NewStar Financial, Inc.

Prior to joining Corsair, Mr. Thornburgh was Executive Vice Chairman of Credit Suisse First Boston (“CSFB”). He has over 40 years of experience in the global banking and financial services sector and has held a number of senior leadership positions at Credit Suisse Group.

Mr. Thornburgh began his investment banking career with The First Boston Corporation, a predecessor firm of CSFB, in 1976. He spent 20 years in the investment banking department specializing in financial institutions. He was the first global head of the Financial Institutions group for CSFB. During the ten-year period ending 2005, he served on the Executive Board of Credit Suisse Group and his executive responsibilities included: Chief Financial and Administrative Officer of CSFB, Chief Financial Officer of Credit Suisse Group, Vice Chairman of the Executive Board of CSFB and Chief Risk Officer of Credit Suisse Group.

Mr. Thornburgh is Vice Chairman of the board of Credit Suisse Group, chairs the risk committee and also serves on its audit and chairman’s and governance committees. He also chairs the board of Credit Suisse Holdings (USA). He serves on the board of S&P Global, Inc. (NYSE: SPGI), where he is chair of the Financial Policy Committee, member of the Executive and Audit Committees. Mr. Thornburgh has significant business activities outside of Corsair and has limited involvement in the day-to-day activities of the Firm.

Mr. Thornburgh holds a B.B.A. cum laude from the University of Cincinnati, a M.B.A. from the Harvard Business School and received an honorary doctorate in Commercial Sciences from the University of Cincinnati 2009. He is the 2016 recipient of the William Howard Taft Medal, the highest honor granted to an alumnus of the University of Cincinnati.

General Counsel & CCO
Jimmy WangGeneral Counsel & CCO

Mr. Wang is General Counsel and Chief Compliance Officer of Corsair. He joined Corsair in 2013 and is based in New York.

Mr. Wang oversees all legal and compliance matters relating to the firm. Prior to joining Corsair, Mr. Wang was a Senior Vice President and Counsel at GSO Capital Partners LP (“GSO”), an affiliate of The Blackstone Group L.P., where he was responsible for legal, transactional, regulatory and compliance issues related to the investment management of private funds, registered funds and separately managed accounts. Prior to joining GSO in January 2008, Mr. Wang served as Assistant Vice President and Associate Counsel to ICON Capital Corp., where in addition to providing legal advice to executive management he had primary SEC filing responsibilities for six publicly registered investment funds. From 2002 to 2006, Mr. Wang was an associate in Latham & Watkins LLP’s corporate transactional practice.

Mr. Wang graduated from Cornell Law School and received a B.A. in American Studies and American History from Northwestern University.

Marwan KaramPrincipal

Mr. Karam is a Principal of Corsair. He joined Corsair in 2013 and is based in London.

Mr. Karam is responsible for investor relations with limited partners. Prior to joining Corsair, Mr. Karam spent 10 years as Managing Director at Wedge Alternatives, a private investment office and placement firm, responsible for business development and the firm’s overall management. Prior to Wedge Alternatives, Mr. Karam was an Executive Director with Lehman Brothers’ Institutional Client Group servicing middle market accounts on mainly equity, fixed income and structured products. Prior to Lehman Brothers, Mr. Karam was an Associate with CIBC Oppenheimer’s Institutional Client Group.

Mr. Karam holds a BSc in Business Administration from Huron University and has also attended McGill University, Montreal.

Marwan El-AsmarPrincipal

Mr. El-Asmar is a Principal of Corsair. Having joined Corsair’s London office in 2009, he relocated to New York in 2016.

Mr. El-Asmar is responsible for investor relations with limited partners. Prior to joining Corsair, Mr. El-Asmar was a member of Babcock & Brown Global Partners (“BBGP”), a private equity co-investment vehicle sponsored by the Babcock & Brown Group, and participated in all areas of BBGP’s activities, including reviewing and monitoring investments, as well as investor relations. Prior to BBGP, Mr. El-Asmar was an associate in Deutsche Bank AG’s Mergers & Acquisition department, where he worked on a number of cross-borders acquisitions and public market transactions.

Mr. El-Asmar holds a B.A. in Economics from the American University of Beirut and a MSc in Economics from the London School of Economics with high distinction.

Christian DiezVice President

Mr. Diez is a Vice President of Corsair. He joined Corsair in 2016 and is based in New York.

As a member of the Finance & Operations team, Mr. Diez is responsible for the execution of the fund accounting, tax reporting, audit and operations functions for the Corsair funds. Prior to joining Corsair, Mr. Diez was the Assistant Controller at Brigade Capital Management, where he led the private equity accounting, finance and tax functions. Previously, Mr. Diez was the Controller at Wolfensohn Fund Management, L.P., a small private equity and family office. Mr. Diez began his career as an Associate in the Alternative Investments division of Credit Suisse.

Mr. Diez is a certified public accountant and holds both an M.B.A and a B.S. in Accounting from New York Institute of Technology.

Stephen KretzVice President

Mr. Kretz is a Vice President of Corsair. He joined Corsair in 2015 and is based in New York.

Prior to joining Corsair, Mr. Kretz covered financial services at LLR Partners, a middle-market growth private equity firm. Prior to LLR, Mr. Kretz was an Associate at Lovell Minnick Partners, a private equity firm focused on financial services companies, and an Analyst in the Wells Fargo Securities Financial Institutions investment banking group.

Mr. Kretz holds a B.A. in Finance with honors from Michigan State University.

May Lee-ShahVice President

Ms. Lee-Shah is a Vice President of Corsair. She joined Corsair in 2015 and is based in London.

As a member of the Finance & Operations team, Ms. Lee-Shah is responsible for the execution of the finance, facilities, IT, human talent and legal functions for Corsair in the UK. Prior to joining Corsair, Ms. Lee-Shah was responsible for the financial reporting, HR, compliance and operations at Riverstone Europe LLP. Previously, she was a Business Associate at Citigroup within the European Investment Bank responsible for revenue accounting and first line management support.

Ms. Lee-Shah holds a Bachelor of Science in International Business Management from the University of Applied Sciences Ludwigshafen, Germany. She is a Chartered Certified Accountant and is a fellow member of the ACCA.

Anthony LingVice President

Mr. Ling is a Vice President of Corsair. He joined Corsair in 2011 and is based in New York.

Prior to joining Corsair, Mr. Ling was an Associate at Lightyear Capital, a U.S. financial services-focused private equity fund. Mr. Ling began his career as a Financial Analyst at J.P. Morgan in the Latin America Mergers and Acquisitions group, where he focused on transactions in the financial services and power industries.

Mr. Ling received a B.A. in Economics and International Studies, cum laude, from Yale University and an M.B.A. from the Harvard Business School.

Edward P. WertheimVice President

Mr. Wertheim is a Vice President of Corsair. Having joined Corsair’s New York office in 2010, he relocated to London in 2013.

Prior to joining Corsair, Mr. Wertheim began his career as a Financial Analyst at UBS Investment Bank in the Financial Institutions Group. While at UBS, he worked on a number of cross-borders transactions.

Mr. Wertheim earned his B.A. with majors in Finance and Government from The College of William & Mary.

Jean ZhaoVice President

Ms. Zhao is a Vice President of Corsair. She joined Corsair in 2015 and is based in New York.

As a member of the Finance & Operations team, Ms. Zhao is responsible for the execution of the finance and other administrative support functions within Corsair in the New York. Prior to joining Corsair, Ms. Zhao was a consultant at Citi Infrastructure Partners, L.P., where she was responsible for financial reporting and other administrative support. Prior to that, Ms. Zhao worked in J.P. Morgan’s Private Equity Fund Administration group as a Vice President. At J.P. Morgan, Ms. Zhao managed a fund accounting team that provided fund administration services to a group of private equity funds. Previously, she worked at PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP New York in the firm’s audit practice, leaving as a senior manager.

Ms. Zhao is a certified public accountant, holds a B.S. in international accounting from the Xiamen University, China.

Richard CreedonAssociate

Mr. Creedon is an Associate of Corsair. He joined Corsair in 2016 and is based in New York.

Prior to joining Corsair, Mr. Creedon was an Associate at Lovell Minnick Partners, a private equity firm focused on financial services companies. Prior to Lovell Minnick, Mr. Creedon was an Analyst in the Keefe, Bruyette & Woods Depositories Investment Banking Group, where he advised North American banks on mergers and acquisitions and capital markets transactions.

Mr. Creedon holds a B.A. in Mathematical Economics, cum laude, from Pomona College.

Michael FriedsonAssociate

Mr. Friedson is an Associate of Corsair. He joined Corsair in 2016 and is based in New York.

Prior to joining Corsair, Mr. Friedson began his career at Credit Suisse, where he spent two years as an Investment Banking Analyst in the Financial Institutions Group. While at Credit Suisse, he advised Latin American companies in the banking, specialty finance, insurance and asset management sectors on mergers and acquisitions and capital raising transactions.

Mr. Friedson received a B.S. in Economics from The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.

Elizabeth KatzenbachSenior Associate

Ms. Katzenbach is an Associate of Corsair. She joined Corsair in 2015 and is based in New York.

As a member of the Finance & Operations team, Ms. Katzenbach is responsible for the execution of the fund accounting, tax reporting, audit and operations functions for the Corsair funds. Prior to joining Corsair, Ms. Katzenbach was a Senior Associate in KPMG’s Infrastructure Financial Advisory practice.

Ms. Katzenbach is a certified public accountant and holds a B.S. in Accounting and Finance from University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.

Paolo PardeyAssociate

Mr. Pardey is an Associate of Corsair. He joined Corsair in 2015 and is based in London.

Prior to joining Corsair, Mr. Pardey was an Associate at Credit Suisse’s Financial Institutions Group within the Investment Banking Department. Mr. Pardey graduated with Full Honors from Bocconi University in Milan, Italy, where he received a Bachelor of International Economics, Management and Finance.

Zachary ZimmermanAssociate

Mr. Zimmerman is an Associate of Corsair. He joined Corsair in 2016 and is based in New York.

Prior to joining Corsair, Mr. Zimmerman began his career at Barclays, where he spent two years as an Investment Banking Analyst in the Financial Institutions Group. While at Barclays, he advised North American, Asian and Western European companies in the financial technology and asset management sectors on mergers and acquisitions and capital raising transactions.

Mr. Zimmerman graduated from the McDonough School of Business at Georgetown University, where he received a B.S. in Business Administration with a specialty in finance. Mr. Zimmerman is a veteran of the United States Marine Corps, where he served in both Iraq and Afghanistan.

Lizzy TurnerBusiness Coordinator

Ms. Turner is a Business Coordinator at Corsair. She joined Corsair in 2016 and is based in New York.

Ms. Turner works closely with the firm’s Managing Partner. She is responsible for supporting a variety of projects related to the Managing Partner’s responsibilities across the firm. Prior to joining Corsair, Ms. Turner was an Associate on the Marketing & Communications team at Moelis & Company, a global independent investment bank.

Ms. Turner holds a B.A. in Art History from The University of Virginia.

Sandra CrespoAdministration

Ms. Crespo is the Office Manager at Corsair. She joined Corsair in 2007 and is based in New York.

As a member of the Finance and Operations team, Ms. Crespo is responsible for supporting the finance, facilities, IT, and human talent functions for Corsair in New York. Prior to joining Corsair, Ms. Crespo spent 15 years working with various teams within J.P. Morgan Chase & Co., including the Corsair team prior to its spin-off in 2006.

John C. BottsSector Focus: Banking & Specialty Finance

Mr. Botts is an Operating Partner of Corsair based in London. He is also a Senior Advisor to Allen & Company Advisors LLP. Previously, he was the Chief Executive of Citicorp’s Investment Bank in Europe, Middle East and Africa, and he also served as Chairman of CVC’s Investment Committee in Europe.

Mr. Botts is a director of Corsair portfolio company Union Bank of Nigeria. He is Chairman of Euromoney Institutional Investor plc and a Director of Brait plc. He previously served as Chairman of UBM plc as well as Chairman of LongAcre Partners, a U.K. based investment bank and a former Corsair portfolio company, until its sale to Jefferies & Company.

Mr. Botts is a Trustee of the Tate Foundation and Chairman of the Glyndebourne Productions Limited and previously served as Governor of The University of the Arts and Trustee of the National Theatre Foundation. In 2003, he was presented with an Honorary CBE.

Andy GriffithsSector Focus: Asset Management, Banking & Specialty Finance

Andy Griffiths is an Operating Partner of Corsair based in London. He is also the Executive Director of the UK Investor Forum, which he was invited to establish by the investment management industry following the 2012 Kay Review. The Forum seeks to promote long term investment approaches and foster more effective relations between UK corporates and their owners.

Prior to joining Corsair, Mr. Griffiths was a Senior Vice President at Capital Group and has 20 years of investment experience in International equities, with a primary focus on the European banking industry.

He has consistently been ranked among the most influential investors in Europe by Finance Directors in Extel, Reuters, Institutional Investor and Brendon Wood International surveys. Prior to joining Capital Group, Mr. Griffiths was the deputy head of research with Prudential M&G Investment Management.

Mr. Griffiths is a Fulbright Commissioner and also has a number of roles in the social enterprise arena. He holds a bachelor’s degree in management economics and accounting from the University of Liverpool. He is also a Chartered Management Accountant.

Jonathan HughesSector Focus: Payments & Financial Technology

Jonathan Hughes is an Operating Partner of Corsair based in London. Mr. Hughes has over 20 years’ experience in the financial services industry, in strategy, operations and technology roles. His current focus is on opportunities in payments and FinTech. Prior to joining Corsair, Mr. Hughes was the Technology COO at Worldpay Group plc, where he was responsible for technology strategy, resource allocation, control and governance. He spent four years with Worldpay while it was under private equity ownership, and he was deeply involved in the program to separate the business from RBS and rebuild the core technology operating platform, as well as transforming the technology organization to meet the needs of a modern, engineering-led FinTech business. Before Worldpay, Mr. Hughes was a Partner at Bain & Company, the global strategic management consultancy, where he was active in the Financial Services and technology practices.

Mr. Hughes has a bachelor’s degree in Industrial Economics from the University of Nottingham, a master’s degree in Financial Management from the University of London and is a Fellow of the Chartered Insurance Institute.

Juan María Nin GénovaSector Focus: Banking & Specialty Finance

Juan María Nin Génova is an Operating Partner of Corsair and is based in Madrid. He was the former CEO of La Caixa, Banco Sabadell and General Manager of Banco Santander. He has also been a member of the Board of Cepsa, Repsol and Gas Natural.

His career path has focused on the banking industry. He was an architect of one of the most important bank merger processes in Spain. During the restructuring of the Spanish financial system, he led several mergers and acquisitions as well as the complex transformation of a savings bank into one of the leading financial institutions in the country’s banking industry.

Since joining the Spanish ministry team that negotiated the accession of Spain to the European Communities (1978-1980), he has been a staunch supporter of the European project. He is also one of the foremost advocates of the advantages of the free trade agreement between the US and the EU (the TTIP) and, as former Chairman of the US-Spain Council Foundation, is an expert in bilateral relations between those countries.

He is currently on the Board of Société Générale (France), Dia and Azora (Spain); and member of Deusto University and Esade Business Schools Counsels.

Mr. Nin graduated in Law and Economics from the University of Deusto and obtained a Master in Laws from the London School of Economics and Political Sciences.

John Partridge is an Operating Partner of Corsair and is based in San Francisco. He most recently served as president of Visa Inc. where he managed marketing, product, client service support, processing and technology. Prior to being named president, Mr. Partridge served as chief operating officer and led efforts to transform Visa from a membership association owned by financial institutions into a global, publicly traded company. Previously, Mr. Partridge served as the first president and chief executive officer of Inovant, the company that owns and operates VisaNet, Visa’s electronic payment processing service.

Before joining Visa, Mr. Partridge served as the senior vice president of program management and chief information officer for UNUM Corporation, a disability insurance company in Portland, Maine. At UNUM, Mr. Partridge had enterprise-wide responsibility for managing technological capability. Before joining UNUM, he managed all systems, operations and consumer banking for Banco de Credito del Peru in Lima. His earlier career included 10 years with Wells Fargo Bank.

Mr. Partridge has a B.S. in Economics from the University of California, Berkeley.

Philip K. Ryan is an Operating Partner of Corsair based in New York. He has been Chairman of Swiss Re America Holding Corp. since October 2012, and joined the Board of Directors of Swiss Re Ltd, the parent company, in April 2015. Mr Ryan is active in several investments and is an Adjunct Professor in Residence at NYU Stern School of Business.

Mr. Ryan was Chief Financial Officer of the Power Corporation of Canada and Power Financial from January 2008 until May 2012. Power is a diversified holding company with interests in life insurance, wealth management and asset management. In that capacity, Mr. Ryan was a director of IGM Financial, Great-West Lifeco and several of their subsidiaries, including Putnam Investments.

From 1985 until 2008, Mr. Ryan held various positions with Credit Suisse, including Chairman of the Financial Institutions Group (UK), Chief Financial Officer of Credit Suisse Group (Switzerland), Chief Financial Officer of Credit Suisse Asset Management (UK), and Managing Director of CSFB Financial Institutions Group (USA/UK).

David Stileman is an Operating Partner of Corsair, based in London. After a 28-year career with Standard Chartered Bank in Asia, Europe and America, he retired from the bank in late 2012. Mr. Stileman joined Standard Chartered in 1984 based in Hong Kong. He was appointed Chairman of Standard Chartered Asia in 1993 and as Chief Executive of Corporate Finance, Standard Chartered Bank in 1994. From 1996 to early 2007, he was Group Head, Corporate Development, responsible for acquisitions, disposals, joint ventures and stock exchange listings. From 2007 to 2011 he was Chief Executive Officer, Americas, responsible for all of the bank’s businesses in the Americas. He subsequently became Chairman, Americas responsible for supporting the bank’s strategic development and client coverage.

Mr. Stileman is on the Advisory Board of California FTV Capital LLP and Philadelphia based BizEquity LLP. He is a director of F&C Global Smaller Companies plc and a Director of the BritishAmerican Business. Dr. Jacob A. Frenkel is a Corsair Advisory Board member. He is Chairman of JPMorgan Chase International and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Group of Thirty (G-30) which is a private, nonprofit, Consultative Group on International Economic and Monetary Affairs.

Previously he was Chairman and CEO of the G-30 (2001-2011), Vice Chairman of American International Group, Inc. (2004-2009), and Chairman of Merrill Lynch International (2000-2004). Between 1991 and 2000 he served two terms as the Governor of the Bank of Israel. He is credited with reducing inflation in Israel and achieving price stability, liberalizing Israel’s financial markets, removing foreign exchange controls, and integrating the Israeli economy into the global financial system.

He was the Economic Counselor and Director of Research at the International Monetary Fund (1987-1991) and was on the faculty of the University of Chicago where he held the position of the David Rockefeller Professor of International Economics (1973-1987).

He is a Fellow of the Econometric Society, a Foreign Honorary Member of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences and a member of the Board of Directors of the National Bureau of Economic Research, of the Japan Society and of the Peterson Institute for International Economics. He is a member of Temasek International Panel (TIP), and of the International Advisory Council of China Development Bank. He is also a member of the Board of Directors of Boston Properties, Inc. and Loews Corporation.

Dr. Frenkel is a Laureate of the 2002 Israel Prize in Economics, a recipient of numerous prizes and decorations from governments and academic institutions and is a recipient of several Honorary Doctoral degrees and other awards.

Dr. Frenkel serves as Chairman of the Board of Governors of Tel Aviv University. He previously served as Chairman of the Board of Governors of the Inter-American Development Bank (1995-1996), as Vice Chairman of the Board of Governors of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (1999-2000), as Governor of the IMF and Alternate Governor of the World Bank for Israel (1991-2000) and a member of the Economic Advisory Panel of the Federal Reserve Bank of New York (1986-2014).

Dr. Frenkel is the author of numerous books and articles in the fields of International Economics and Macro-Economics. He holds a B.A. in economics and political science from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, and an M.A. and Ph.D. in economics from the University of Chicago.

Chuck Hagel is a Corsair Advisory Board member. He was the 24th Secretary of Defense, serving from February 2013 to February 2015. He is the only Vietnam veteran and the first enlisted combat veteran to serve as Secretary of Defense. Mr. Hagel also served two terms in the United States Senate (1997-2009) representing the state of Nebraska.

Some of Mr. Hagel’s current commitments include serving on the Board of Trustees of RAND, Advisory Boards of Deutsche Bank America, Senior Advisor to Gallup and to the McCarthy Group, Distinguished Executive in Residence at Georgetown University, Distinguished Statesman at the Atlantic Council and Board of Directors of the American Security Project.

Previously, Mr. Hagel served on the Board of the Chevron Corporation and the Zurich Holding Company of America, was a Distinguished Professor at Georgetown University, Co-Chairman of the President’s Intelligence Advisory Board, Chairman of the Atlantic Council, Chairman of the United States of America Vietnam War Commemoration Advisory Committee and Co-Chairman of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Fund Corporate Council. He served as a member of the Secretary of Defense’s Policy Board, Secretary of Energy’s Blue Ribbon Commission on the Future of Nuclear Power, the Public Broadcasting Service (PBS) Board of Directors and the Systemic Risk Council.

Prior to his election to the U.S. Senate, Mr. Hagel was president of McCarthy & Company, an investment banking firm in Omaha, Nebraska. In the mid-1980’s, Mr. Hagel co-founded VANGUARD Cellular Systems, Inc., a publicly traded corporation. He was President and CEO of the World USO, Private Sector Council (PSC), and Chief Operating Officer of the 1990 Economic Summit of Industrialized Nations (G-7 Summit). Mr. Hagel also served as Deputy Administrator of the Veterans Administration under President Ronald Reagan and Deputy Commissioner General of the 1982 World’s Fair.

He is the author of the book, America: Our Next Chapter and was the subject of a 2006 book by Charlyne Berens entitled, Chuck Hagel: Moving Forward. Mr. Hagel is a graduate of the University of Nebraska at Omaha.

Edward J. “Ned” Kelly III is a Corsair Advisory Board member. He was chairman of Citigroup Inc.’s Institutional Clients Group from January 2011 until his retirement in July 2014. He served as chairman of Global Banking from April 2010 to January 2011, and as vice chairman of Citigroup from July 2009 to April 2010. Kelly also served as Citi’s chief financial officer from March through July 2009. Prior to his work as CFO, Kelly was head of Global Banking and before that president and chief executive officer of Citi Alternative Investments. He is currently a director of CSX Corporation, XL Group and MetLife.

Kelly joined Citi in February 2008 from The Carlyle Group, a private investment firm, where he was a managing director. Prior to joining Carlyle in July 2007, he was a vice chairman at PNC Financial Services Group following PNC’s acquisition of Mercantile Bankshares Corporation in March 2007.

He was chairman, chief executive and president of Mercantile from March 2003 through March 2007 and chief executive and president from March 2001 to March 2003. Before Mercantile, Kelly was at J.P. Morgan Chase & Co. where he was managing director and head of Global Financial Institutions and co-head of Investment Banking Client Management. He joined J.P. Morgan in 1994 as its general counsel and secretary. In 1996, he became a managing director and subsequently ran various parts of J.P. Morgan’s investment banking business, including Global Financial Institutions and Latin America. Prior to joining J.P. Morgan, Kelly was a partner at the law firm of Davis Polk & Wardwell, where he specialized in matters related to financial institutions. Early in his career, he served as a law clerk to Supreme Court Justice William J. Brennan, Jr. and U.S. Court of Appeals Judge Clement F. Haynsworth, Jr.

Prior to law school, Kelly served as a legislative assistant and, later, press secretary to U.S. Senator Richard S. Schweiker.

Mr. Kielholz is a Corsair Advisory Board member. He has been Chairman of the Board of Directors of Swiss Reinsurance Ltd (“Swiss Re”) since 2009. He has been a member of the Board of Directors of Credit Suisse Group AG since 1999 and was Chairman of the bank’s Board of Directors from 2003 to 2009.

Mr. Kielholz began his career at the General Reinsurance Corporation, Zurich in 1976. He joined Credit Suisse in 1986, where he was responsible for client relations with large insurance groups in the multinational services department. In 1989, Mr. Kielholz joined Swiss Re, Zurich. He became a member of the Executive Board in 1993 and was Swiss Re’s Chief Executive Officer from 1997 to 2002. He was Executive Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors from 2003 to 2006 and Vice Chairman from 2007 to 2009.

Mr. Kielholz is Chairman of the European Financial Services Round Table (“EFR”). He is also a member of the International Monetary Conference (“IMC”) and the Board of the Institute of International Finance (“IIF”). In addition, he is a member and former Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Avenir Suisse. From 1998 to 2005, and again since 2009, he has served as a member of the International Business Leader Advisory Council (“IBLAC”). In 2009, he became a member of the International Advisory Panel (“IAP”) of the Monetary Authority of Singapore. In 2005, Mr. Kielholz was elected by the members of the International Insurance Society to the Insurance Hall of Fame.

Mr. Kielholz studied business administration at the University of St. Gallen and graduated in 1976 with a degree in business finance and accounting.

Mr. Puri is a Corsair Advisory Board member. He is a director of the following Indian companies: Mahindra and Mahindra (a diversified conglomerate), Tech Mahindra (telecom software) and Dr. Reddy’s Labs (generic pharmaceuticals). He currently serves on the Advisory Board of Spencer Stuart, India. Before, he was a Director of ICICI Bank and the Director of Godrej Consumer Products Limited.

Mr. Puri previously was a senior director at McKinsey & Company (“McKinsey”) (1970-2000). Early in his career at McKinsey, Mr. Puri worked with governments in the United States, the United Kingdom, Mexico and Australia, and with United Nations agencies and multilateral development banks, on issues of economic development and industrial policy. Among other things, he helped create the plan for Saudi Arabia’s petrochemical industry, participated in the re-structuring of the European textile and steel industries for the European Economic Community (“EEC”), led the creation of a new structure for the Venezuelan oil industry and advised the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (“OPEC”) on oil policy.

From 1990 to 1998, Mr. Puri founded and managed McKinsey’s practice in India. From 1996 onwards, Mr. Puri was an elected member of McKinsey’s Board of Directors, and from 1998 onwards he oversaw all of McKinsey’s Asian, Middle Eastern and Latin American practices.

Mr Puri holds an M.Phil. in Economics from Nuffield College, Oxford; an M.A. with Distinction in Politics, Philosophy and Economics from Balliol College, Oxford, and a B.A. in Economics from Delhi University, where he graduated first in the University academic rankings.

Mr. Richards is a Corsair Advisory Board member. He is a director of Credit Suisse Holdings USA.

From 2011 until 2017, Mr. Richards was at the Federal Reserve Bank of New York (“FRBNY”) where he was a Senior Vice President and Head of Supervision for Complex Financial Institutions, including the ten largest financial firms in New York. He also served as a member of the Federal Reserve’s system wide operating committee responsible for the supervision of all systemically important firms in the United States. Mr. Richards represented the FRBNY on a number of international committees including the Senior Supervisors Group.

Mr. Richards was General Manager of the Americas for National Australia Bank (“NAB”) from 2002-2010 responsible for all of the Bank’s businesses in the Americas. He joined NAB in 2000 as Managing Director and Head of Client Relationships in the Americas. He also served as Head of Global Financial Institutions for two years. From 1988 to 2000, Mr. Richards worked with UBS as Head of Client Relationship Management for corporations, financial institutions and public sector entities in the US. He started his career with The Chase Manhattan Bank.

Mr. Richards has served on the boards of the Institute of International Bankers, Great Western Bank, the American Australian Association, the US-New Zealand Business Council, and the Shelter for the Homeless.

Mr. Richards is a graduate of Williams College and of several executive programs at the Harvard Business School.

Ellen Shuman is a Corsair Advisory Board member. She is the co-founder and Managing Director of Edgehill Endowment Partners, a fully outsourced investment office providing discretionary management to a small number of perpetual endowed charities.

Prior to founding Edgehill Endowment Partners, Ellen Shuman served as Vice President and Chief Investment Officer of Carnegie Corporation of New York (January 1999 to July 2011). Ms. Shuman was its first Chief Investment Officer, recruited by President Vartan Gregorian. Ms. Shuman built the investment office and implemented a set of strategies that dramatically diversified the portfolio – globally and by asset class – generating investment performance that exceeded the Corporation’s policy benchmark. Throughout her tenure, the Corporation’s assets grew from $1.5 billion to $2.55 billion, net of spending in excess of $1 billion.

Prior to Carnegie Corporation, Ms. Shuman worked for long-standing CIO David Swensen at the Yale Investment Office (1986-1998), serving as Director of Investments. At Yale, Ms. Shuman focused on real estate, energy and fixed income asset classes, including the University’s debt issuance. She taught several courses at Yale College and the Yale School of Management on Finance and Real Estate Investing.

Ms. Shuman received the Institutional Investor Award for Excellence in Investment Management by Foundations in 2006. She was profiled in Foundation and Endowment Investing, by Cathleen Rittereiser and Larry Kochard, published in 2008 by Wiley & Sons, and has received Institutional Investor magazine’s Lifetime Achievement Award in Investment Management for foundations in May 2014.

Ms. Shuman has served on the board of both colleges and foundations. She was a trustee of Bowdoin College for 21 years (1992-2013), serving as Vice Chair, a member of the Presidential Search Committee, the investment committee and the audit committee (chair). She was an investment advisor, trustee, and investment committee chair of the Edna McConnell Clark Foundation (1998-2013) and a board member of The Investment Fund for Foundations (2000-2009).

Ms. Shuman graduated with a B.A. magna cum laude from Bowdoin College and received an M.P.P.M. from the Yale University School of Management. She has earned the Chartered Financial Analyst designation.

Mr. Watts is a Corsair Advisory Board member. He is Vice Chairman, Global Banking, HSBC. Mr. Watts is based in London but travels regularly to Asia maintaining and developing HSBC’s corporate and banking relationships at a senior level drawing on over 15 years of experience of business throughout Asia.

Mr. Watts is also a member of the International Advisory Council of Huawei Technologies, a large Chinese telecom equipment company headquartered in Shenzhen, a non-executive director of Tottenham Hotspur plc, the English Premier League football club and a member of the Advisory Panel for the UK ASEAN Business Council.

From 1981 to 2010, Mr. Watts worked at Merrill Lynch in New York, London, Hong Kong and Mumbai. He held a number of senior positions including Co-head of Global Investment Banking, Chairman of Asia Pacific, Chairman of Europe, Middle East and Africa and Chairman of International. In these roles he has advised many companies and banks in the United Kingdom, Europe, the United States and Asia on a wide range of financing and M&A transactions as well as managing significant parts of Merrill Lynch’s international businesses. Prior to joining Merrill Lynch, Mr. Watts spent seven years at H M Treasury which included two years as Private Secretary to the Permanent Secretary.

Mr. Watts gained a first class degree in Politics, Philosophy and Economics and a postgraduate degree in Philosophy, both at University College, Oxford.
