Growth Capital

Corsair invests in companies with proven business models, exceptional management teams, and a demonstrated need for growth capital in order to capitalize on specific market opportunities and economic themes. We consider investment opportunities in both established businesses or de novo financial services companies around the world.

  • Established Companies. Corsair can help an established business effect a key strategic development such as an acquisition, new market expansion, or new product roll-out. Corsair also invests in established businesses in very high growth markets (including emerging markets), where financial product penetration remains relatively low. In doing so, Corsair develops a close partnership with management to help define and implement the company’s existing and prospective business plans.
  • De Novo Companies. Other investments targeted by Corsair involve the initial capitalization of de novo companies. Corsair’s experience working with companies across subsectors for many decades can be invaluable in executing a business plan. In these instances, we will partner with a proven management team and work hand-in-hand on substantially all financial, operating, and strategic planning including: (i) developing a business plan; (ii) recruiting key management team members; (iii) assisting and supporting additional capital raises (iv) establishing a corporate governance framework; (v) establishing funding and liquidity facilities; and (vi) ensuring receipt of necessary licenses, regulatory approvals, or financial strength ratings.

Generally, Corsair considers an investment in a de novo company only if the following criteria are met: (i) management’s established track record of success with a similar business; (ii) proven and verifiably replicable business plan; and, (iii) the reasonable ability to mitigate start-up risk.
